happy new year 2014

Happy New Year! I hope 2014 is a happy, healthy and successful year for you and your families. But before moving forward, here are a few updates on what went on since the summer when work needs distracted me from this blog:Me on Newshour set

August: Traveled to Washington, D.C. to help support a work related webcast with on site social media coverage at the WETA studios. Had a chance to see what it’s like to host the PBS Show ‘Newshour’.

OOW13me and taylor hicksSeptember: Double dose of social media live event support for my employer at Oracle OpenWorld in San Francisco and the Internet Marketing association’s Impact13 conference, where I met up with American Idol’s Taylor Hicks.

ariannaOctober: The Spredfast user conference in Austin, Tx where the keynote speaker was Arianna Huffington.

mobile conf nyuNovember: Attended the Mapping Mobile Conference at NYU Stern; addressed the Pennsylvania Institute of CPAs on using social media as a job search tool; and presented on social media participation while maintaining compliance with corporate policy to over 700 people (plus more on closed circuit TV) from my firm’s Tech department.

live acquaChichen ItzaDecember: Year-end brought some changes at work which made a month-end trip to Live Aqua in Cancun with a side trip to the Mayan ruins at Chichen Itza a welcome relief.
